In their only appearance of the spring, Phish perform at a Voters For Choice benefit in Lowell, Massachusetts in May. "A Live One" (double CD recorded live, the Clifford Ball, 1994) is released on June 27th and the band goes back on the road in June and July; mail-order tickets now become available for regular seats as well as tapers. During the summer, there were two-night stands of shows at amphitheaters in Colorado, Pennsylvania, New York and Massachusetts. They wrap up the tour with two nights at Sugarbush North ski area, playing to an open ski slope full of fans. The fall tour commences in September on the west coast with the band's first appearance at Shoreline Amphitheater and some shows with Medeski Martin and Wood as the support act. The Halloween tradition continues with a performance by popular request of the Who's Quadrophenia at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago. In November, Phish played three nights in a row at Atlanta's opulent Fox Theatre. Fish is transformed into the baby New Year by a mad scientist at Madison Square Garden.
