LivePhish.com has just released Phish’s 8/7/93 Darien Lake Performing Arts Center show from Darien Center, NY – another quintessential highlight fromthe heralded summer 1993 Phish tour.

The release was recorded by Paul Languedoc and mastered by Fred Kevorkian. Anyone with a LivePhish+ Subscription can stream the show right now or you can purchase from LivePhish.com and stream via the App (in your Stash). Downloads are also available: http://livephi.sh/Darien93

On August 7th, Phish played their first show at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center – a then-uncovered amphitheater with a capacity of about 16,000 located inside an amusement park near Buffalo, NY. There is something special about this spot and it was immediately apparent as the band took the stage and ripped into an explosive Llama opener, followed by a crazy set with new beginnings where the endings would usually be.

“The Roller Coaster Of The Mind” narration during Colonel Forbin’s Ascent > Fly Famous Mockingbird summed up the magic of the place and time. A mostly non-stop second set of dynamic, experimental playing yielded combinations of 2001 > Mike’s Song > Kung > Mike’s Song > The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday > Avenu Malkanu > The Sloth and My Friend My Friend > McGrupp And The Watchful Hosemasters > Purple Rain, Run Like An Antelope.
