Unknown Blues Band To Open Trey Show

The final show of Trey’s summer tour will feature a special opening set by Big Joe Burrell and the Unknown Blues Band.

Fronted by the legendary singer and saxophonist Joe Burrell, the UBB are Burlington legends, with a soulful, bluesy sound that cuts across the barriers of age, attitude and musical persuasion. Big Joe has been wowing audiences around the world for over fifty years with his “Texas Tenor” saxophone and “Kansas City shouter” vocal style, having played with the likes of B. B. King, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Etta James, Little Richard and many others along the way. Joe’s fellow band mates have equally impressive resumes, having played with Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Paul Butterfield, David Bromberg, John Lee Hooker and others over their collective careers. Joe will be joined by Chas Eller on keyboards and http://www.paulasbell.com/ on guitar – Tony Markellis (bass) and Russ Lawton (drums) will have a busy night as they are the common link between the two bands, serving as the rhythm section for each. We strongly encourage you to get out early and take in Big Joe’s special brand of blues.
