Show Notes

Phish’s third show at this venue (second as Roseland Theater) was an all ages show with a ticket price of $12. The show was advertised in local papers as “The Triumphant Return of PHISH.” The band Jim opened. The Mockingbird narration was based on “The Wizard Of Oz” and included a tease of Miss Gulch’s/Witch’s Theme (Herbert Stothart cover) and Trey’s revelation “The Mountain is Icculus!”, which led the band into their second Icculus in just over a week. David Bowie included Fall Down, The Simpsons and Turn Turn Turn secret language. On Broadway was teased during Weekapaug Groove. The Cold As Ice intro was briefly reprised as Fish “made sure he had enough power” and sang the praises of duct tape. During Love You, Fish started his solo on trombone but switched to vacuum. He subsequently introduced the band for a round of solos, referring to Page as “Page Piano.” During Big Black Furry Creature From Mars, Trey and Mike reportedly dove back and forth across the stage under Chris’ strobe lights.
