Show Notes

This show was an African National Congress Benefit featuring Phish and South African dub poet Zenzile. Admission was $4. For set II, Phish accmopanied Zenzile for his African rhythmic chants and rap. It's worth noting that this show corresponds to the setlist of 2/1/85 Doolin's and may indeed be the correct date of that show (meaning there was no 2/1/85 Doolin's show or at least that this set I setlist was mis-attributed to that gig). If that is true, then this is the 1st known public performance of You Enjoy Myself. This show also marked the 1st known performances of Zenzile's pieces - all performed with Phish - Tonight, The Pendulum, Babylon Is Burning and Dec 1661. Russ Flanagan sat in on fiddle for parts of this show.
