Show Notes

This was Phish’s fifth show on the UMass Amherst campus and their 1st show at the Mullins Center – a brand new basketball and hockey arena opened in 1993 with a capacity of 9,500. Tickets cost $18.50 and this was one of the first six shows on the tour for which mail order tapers’ tickets were offered. All other tickets were through public onsale. Trey’s foot was in a brace due to torn ligaments. Trey sang the verses of Fee through his megaphone. Nellie Kane was played electric with Page on piano and Fish on drums. This show featured the 1st performance of Axilla [Part II] which was reworked with some new lyrics for “Hoist”. You Enjoy Myself featured guest trampoline jumper Brad Sands who substituted for Trey on the mini-tramps routine. After this show, the band and crew traveled 430 miles overnight to Fairfax, Virginia.
