Show Notes

This show was a private party, Ian’s annual pig roast, and was not listed in the April 1989 or May 1989 Phish Updates. Trey dedicated The Divided Sky opener to the spirit of the Pig and substituted "spliff" for "spike" in the Run Like An Antelope lyrics. You Enjoy Myself ended in a "poop" vocal jam and was followed by a keg run before set two could ensue. Mike's Song included teases of the MTV Theme. Magoo and Ninja Mike Billington from Ninja Custodian joined the band on guest guitar and vocals respectively for Funky (Breakdown) and The Price Of Love accompanied by Fish on trombone and vacuum. This show featured the 1st known performance of Funky (Breakdown) - a Ninja Custodian cover and the fast version of Sanity. An unknown saxophone player named Paul sat in for Take The 'A' Train.
