Show Notes

This show took place in uncovered amphitheater set on the west side of the Flats (overlooking the Cuyahoga River) with a capacity at that time of 4,050. Before the show, the crew spent some time launching balloons from the top of the bleachers at unsuspecting fans and others in surrounding parking lots. Funky Bitch was performed during the soundcheck as a Trey-sung shuffle. The rare Big Black Furry Creature From Mars opener included a tease of The Divided Sky. Loving Cup was played for the only time of the summer. The Horse was played by Trey on acoustic guitar with a slightly extended intro. During I Didn’t Know, Fish took a solo on his Madonna washboard. David Bowie contained Random Note and The Simpsons secret language. It’s Ice featured a piano solo. Possum included a brief tribute to the previous night’s magic at the Zoo in the form of a Tequila tease. Page began the Hold Your Head Up intro with the Charge fanfare. After the Hold Your Head Up intro, Fish introduced his 1953 Electrolux, saying “this one has a lot of power.” While Fish tried to decide what to sing, Trey congratulated “the guy sitting inthe front row here who had not one, but two baskets with the big balls”. Page repeated the Charge fanfare, which led to the 1st known performance (albeit abbreviated) of Rock And Roll Part 2 (Garry Glitter cover). Fish lobbied to sing the song but the band negged him so Fish chose Love You. Free Bird was performed with microphones After the show, the band and crew traveled 313 miles overnight to Toronto.
