Show Notes

This was Phish’s 1st and only show on Miami Beach. The venue was a historic South Beach, Art Deco movie palace opened in 1936 with a capacity of about 1,350. Trey’s Gamehdnge narration during Fly Famous Mockingbird featured the venue floor turning into a surfboard to ride “the biggest wave ever known in the history of the world” with a Page-inspired tease of The Ballad of Gilligan’s Island (Sherwood Schwartz cover). “We are troubadours from Gamehendge and…part of the thing that we’re here to do along with the other stuff is to sing you the songs of Gamehendge and that’s why we brought you to this land…I hope you got all that because there’s going to be a test at the end.” During I Didn’t Know, Trey introduced Fsh and noted his “love-soaked” trombone solo for his parents, who were in attendance. Trey used the David Bowie intro to welcome Fish’s parents, Mimi and Leonard Fishman. David Bowie also contained a tease of the Jeopardy! Theme. Wilson included Random Note secret language. If I Only Had A Brain featured Fish’s mom, Mimi Fishman playing her sixth vacuum solo with Phish. Amazing Grace was performed without microphones.
