Show Notes

This was Phish’s fourth show at the Mullins Center and the second show of a 2-night stand. Tickets cost $20.00 and the show was sold out. Before The Lizards, Trey said how great it was to be back at the Mullins Center and “We just met Dick Vitale backstage so we’re going to dedicate this to him. This is for you Dick.” Reportedly when Vitale was broadcasting from the Mullins Center on 12/6 during a UMass-Wake Forest basketball game, he mentioned that it smelled a little different than the night before. I’m Blue I’m Lonesome was performed acoustic with Trey on acoustic guitar, Mike on banjo, Page on upright bass and Fish on mandolin. Trey teased Dave’s Energy Guide during this fairly deep Bathtub Gin. As they ended Scent Of A Mule, the band spontaneously dove into a short, hard rocking Jam that led to Lifeboy. Trey also teased The Entertainer (Scott Joplin cover) during Harry Hood. After this show the band and crew traveled 404 miles overnight to Niagara Falls, New York for a day off.
