Show Notes

This was an all ages show in the Love Auditorium which, at the time, was the performance space inside the Chambers Building. Trey used the Rhombus Narration before The Divided Sky (customized to place The Love Auditorium into context of “Early Gamehendge”) and the Gamehendge narration in Fly Famous Mockingbird to clear up the fact that Colonel Forbin and Col. Bruce Hampton are different colonels. Funk #49 was teased before David Bowie, which included Charlie Chan, Popeye, Random Note, The Simpsons, Oom Pah Pah and Random Laugh secret language. After Bathtub Gin, Trey again acknowledged the the “LOVE Auditorium” and responded to a fan question about New Year’s Eve. He said the show would take place at The Worcester Memorial Auditorium (aka New Aud), calling it a “beautiful room, the right size…it’s gonna be crazy”. He then told the story about a date conflict with downtown Worcester’s First Night that caused the promoter to suggest moving the show to the 15,000-seat Worcester Centrum. Luckily the gig ultimately took place at the New Aud, albeit slightly delayed to accommodate the First Night conflict. This reggae-ish rendition of Terrapin was “the restrained version”. In addition to his latest nickname, Showboat Gertrude, Fish was also introduced as “the Master of Restraint”. In keeping with the ribbing about this latest moniker, Fish hilariously sang only every few words of Terrapin, apparently restraining himself from uttering the rest. Sweet Adeline was performed without microphones.
