11/22/94 Brand New LivePhish Archival Release Available Now And Streaming Via LivePhish+

On November 22, 1994 Phish played their only show to-date at Jesse Auditorium on the University of Missouri campus in Columbia, MO – an historic auditorium dating back to the 19th century. Anyone with a LivePhish+ subscription can stream the show right now from the LivePhish App or you can purchase from LivePhish.com and stream via the free App (in your Stash). The band was in the middle of a 47-date, nationwide fall tour following the spring release of Phish’s fifth studio album, Hoist. The crew was recording the shows on multitrack for what would become A Live One.

Set I began with a hot opening sequence of Buried Alive > Poor Heart > Horn > Foam followed by Guyute – then just over a month into its development. Bouncing Around The Room > Down With Disease and an A capella Sweet Adeline rounded out the first set. An explosive Funky Bitch for the ages began set II – stretched way out into a trasnscendent jam that melded perfectly into the vocal harmonies of Yerushalayim Shel Zahav. Two Beatles’ rareties from Phish’s first Halloween musical costume came next as Cry Baby Cry and Blackbird cradled The Curtain in
their midst.

Runaway Jim led into an insane (even by Creature standards) Big Black Furry Creature From Mars, which began electric but finished acoustic as Trey switched to acoustic guitar, Mike to banjo, Page to upright bass and Fish to mandolin. At this time, Phish was deep in bluegrass exploration on the heels of a 5-day intensive tutorial with Rev. Jeff Mosier from the Aquarium Rescue Unit and the band displayed their acoustic stylings on the next few songs. Set II continued fully electric with a soaring Harry Hood followed by Highway To Hell and a rare, The Lizards encore.

11/22/94 was recorded by Paul Languedoc to digital multitrack and was mixed/mastered by Jon Altschiller.
