Mike’s 2011 March Tour begins tomorrow, March 5th, in Eugene, Oregon. To commemorate the start of the tour, we’ve released Mike’s 11/16/2010 show from the Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis, MN as a FREE DOWNLOAD at LivePhish.com.
This show was cherry picked from the November 2010 Tour and fully remixed and mastered (from the band’s multitracks) for the release. The five-piece lineup includes Mike on bass, longtime collaborator Scott Murawski on guitar, Vermonters Craig Myers on percussion and Tom Cleary on keyboards and Brooklyn drummer Todd Isler.
This show features originals from Mike’s latest solo album, Moss, including “Can’t Stand Still” and “Idea” and “Middle Of The Road” from Clone, his album with Minneapolis native Leo Kottke. A handful of covers include Little Feat’s “Sailin’ Shoes”, JJ Cale’s “Ain’t Love Funny” and Alanis Morisette’s “Hand In Pocket”. You can download the entire show, absolutely free, at LivePhish.com.
We’ve also mixed and mastered another favorite from the tour; Mike’s 11/26/2010 show from Port City Music Hall in Portland, Maine, which features Phish drummer Jon Fishman on a second drum kit for the majority of the show, beginning with Little Feat’s “Easy To Slip”. The show clocks in at just under 3 hours long.
The first set includes Moss originals “Horizon Line”, “The Void”, and “What Things Seem”, the Talking Heads’ classic “Cities” and Green Sparrow tracks “Traveled Too Far” and “Sound”. The second set begins with “What Things Seem”, and includes Radiohead’s “15 Step” sandwiched between “Suskind Hotel”.
