Page heads to New Orleans

Page went to New Orleans this week to record some music that he’s been writing the past couple of months.

For this project, he recruited Oteil Burbridge (bassist for The Allman Brothers Band, Aquarium Rescue Unit, and his own band, among many other projects) and drummer Rusell Batiste (The funky Meters, Allan Toussaint, Robbie Robertson, Harry Connick, Jr., Wild Magnolias). They’ll be recording for about two weeks. There are no plans for a release any time soon — we’ll keep you posted when we have more information.

It’s been widely reported elsewhere, but for those that hadn’t heard…Page plays on the debut album of Tenacious D, due in stores on September 25. The “D” have been favorites of Page and the other Phish band members for some time now. For more info on Tenacious D, now on tour, check out their site at http://www.tenaciousd.com
