Show Notes
This was Phish’s third performance at Hampton Coliseum – the first show of the band’s first 2-night stand at The Mothership. Tickets (all general admission) cost $22.50 and the show was sold out. The 1st Emotional Rescue played by Phish (Rolling Stones cover) featured Mike’s falsetto vox, a deep funky jam and a San-Ho-Zay tease from Trey. Split Open And Melt and Lawn Boy included Emotional Rescue teases and quotes. Prince Caspian ended with a digital delay loop that continued until after the house lights came back on. Trey teased Yours Is No Disgrace and Call To The Post during the tuneup before Guyute. Ghost kicked off the third 4-song set II of fall ’97 and melted into a huge AC/DC Bag > Slave before the Stones bookend of Loving Cup. This show, including the Hampton ’97 Soundcheck Jam, was released in 2011 as part of the Hampton/Winston-Salem ’97 box set.
