Show Notes

This was Phish’s first show at Paradiso – a converted former church turned rock-club/cultural center with a capacity in its concert hall (the Grote Zaal) of about 1500. The venue has a double balcony and stained glass windows. Tickets cost ƒ 24,00. The Funky Bitch/Dog Log mashup from the soundcheck was played to the music of Soul Shakedown Party. This show featured the 1st Carini played and the 1st Soul Shakedown Party (Bob Marley cover) played publicly by Phish. Carini was initially called Lucy Had A Lumpy Head. Page teased Tequila during Bathtub Gin. Mike played some foot bell during Down With Disease. Carini included a You Enjoy Myself tease. A poster triptych featuring this show, 2/13/97 London and 2/18/97 Paris won a 1997 Award of Excellence from the Communication Arts Design Annual for Best Poster Series. After this show the band and crew traveled 320 miles overnight to Paris. This show was released from the archives in June 2015 (along with 7/1/97 and 7/2/97) as part of the Amsterdam box set.
