South Park Meadows
Austin, TX, US

Set List

Show Notes

This was Phish’s first show at South Park Meadows – an open-air grass bowl (now a shopping mall) with a backdrop of oak trees best known as the site of Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July Picnic in the mid-80’s. Stated capacity for this show was 15,000 and tickets cost $25.00. There were no Tapers tickets for this show – the tapers just set up informally behind the mix position. The entire show and soundcheck featured Bob Gullotti on a second drum kit – the only known Phish show with two full drum sets for the duration. The Funky Bitch soundcheck was the slow version and instrumental. After Stash, Trey introduced Bob Gullotti. You Enjoy Myself included teases of Willie The Pimp (Frank Zappa cover) before the segue to Izabella without a vocal jam. David Bowie included teases of Rock Lobster. Harry Hood was unfinished and included a brief drop into the first Blister In The Sun in more than four years (since 4/12/92). After this show the band and crew stayed in Austin overnight before flying to Phoenix, Arizona for a couple of days off. On July 28, Character Zero was released as the second promotional single from Billy Breathes.
