Show Notes
This was Phish’s third performance at Providence Civic Center and the first show of a 2-night stand known as Island Tour, along with the previous 2-night stand at Nassau Coliseum. Tickets cost $25.00 and the show was sold out. This was 1998’s only Tweezer show opener and included some Mike foot bell and the second ever pairing of Tweezer > Taste. During Lawn Boy, Trey referenced the 4/3/98 show, saying “Carini’s gonna get you.” 2001 was unfinished and included a Long Train Runnin’ tease. After Brother, Trey announced they were going to play it again, which they did, playing played a 1 minute instrumental Brother Reprise that Trey called the “single-edit radio friendly version.” Ghost included a Can’t Turn You Loose and was introduced by Trey as being “long and slow.” This show, including Providence Soundhcheck Jam, Shafty and Roggae from the soundcheck, was released in 2005 on CD, download and streaming at as part of LivePhish The Island Tour.
