Show Notes

This was Phish’s only show at Fillmore Cortemaggiore – a music club with a capacity of 600. Cortemaggiore is located in the Province of Piacenza northern Italy that is designated as a “Citta d’Arte” (City of Art). Tickets cost L 30.000. The soundcheck’s Funky Bitch was sung by Trey and played over the James Brown’ish funk Jam that preceded it. The soundcheck’s nascent Carini (at this time known as Lucy Had A Lumpy Head or Song For Carini) included some additional/alternative lyrics and an extended outro groove with extra percussion from Trey. The show began with Paul playing back part of the taped Carini soundcheck over the P.A., which the band picked up and played along with live. Axilla contained the Axilla (Part II) ending without the ‘Hoist’ lyrics. All Things Reconsidered was the last played to-date. Daniel Saw The Stone was the first played in more than three years (since 8/28/93). Why Don’t We Do It In The Road was played for the first time in more than a year (since 6/25/95) and featured Fish on lead vocals and Trey on drums. During Hold Your Head Up, Trey announced the “Return of Henrietta” acknowledging the first time Fish wore his dress (for all of set II) on the Europe tour. Good Times Bad Times included a Tweezer Reprise tease. After this show the band and crew traveled 350 miles overnight to Munich, Germany.
