Phish - 1997

WDR Festival - Loreley
St. Goarshausen, Germany

Set List

Show Notes

This was Phish’s only performance at the WDR (aka Rockpalast Open Air) Festival – a 1-set show at a multi-act festival. The venue for the festival was the Freilichtbühne Loreley (Loreley Open-Air Theatre) – a historic open air amphitheater atop the Lorelei rock that was opened in 1939 by the Nazis, and used for rock concerts since 1976 with a capacity of 18,000. Also on the bill the day Phish played were K’s Choice, Reef, Ezio, John Hiatt, Primus, and Steve Winwood (who played a set of Traffic tunes immediately following Phish’s set). Tickets cost DM 49,00. As with all WDR performances, this entire show was videotaped to be aired later. After this show the band and crew traveled 170 miles overnight to Strasbourg, France for a day off.
