Show Notes
This was Phish’s second (and last to-date) show at the Nutter Center. Tickets cost $21.00 and the show was sold out. The Funky Bitch soundcheck was sung by Trey and contained teases of Black-Eyed Katy. The soundcheck also included the 1st known I’ll Be Around (The Spinners cover), The Stallion (Ween cover) and The Rover (Led Zeppelin cover) played by Phish. Psycho Killer was played for the second time ever and the first time in more than four years (since 3/30/93). Jesus Just Left Chicago contained a tease of Rocky Mountain Way This was the only It’s Ice > Swept Away > Steep > It’s Ice sandwich to-date. Dayton Jam out of Tube was similar to the 12/3/97 post-Possum Philly ’97 Jam and 12/6/97 post-Izabella 12/6/97 cow funk stop/start jams – the lights went off after Tube and the band stopped, then reprised Tube as Dayton Jam. Boogie On Reggae Woman was played for the first time in more than nine years (since 9/13/88). Reba ended without whistling. Possum contained teases of Charge! and We Will Rock You. A Day In The Life was the last song played before the anniversary of John Lennon’s passing (12/8/80). After this show the band and crew traveled 413 miles overnight to State College, Pennsylvania for a day off. This show was initially released in 2003 as a download at LivePhish.com and was remastered and re-released in 2008 as LivePhish 12/7/97 Ervin J. Nutter Center, Dayton, OH on CD, download and streaming.
