Teatro Smeraldo
Milan, Italy

Set List

Show Notes

This was Phish’s only performance at Teatro Smeraldo – a historic theater opened in 1942 as a cinema and run by generations of the Longoni family. Capacity was 2050 and tickets cost L 40.000. Trey teased Dave’s Energy Guide during Taste and Stash. Sweet Adeline was performed without microphones. After this show the band and crew traveled 175 miles overnight to Florence (“Wash Uffizi drive me to Firenze”). Tickets for the Flynn Theater benefit went on sale this day in Burlington, VT with anti-scalping procedures to ensure only the fans who bought the tickets could attend. Ticket vouchers were top-secret until an 8am announcement on WIZN 106.7 FM that tickets would go on sale at noon. Vouchers were sold in pairs-only and the purchaser had to attend the show in person to exchange the vouchers for tickets. Ben & Jerry’s employees handed out free samples of Phish Food to the waiting hometown crowd.
