Show Notes

This was Phish’s third (and last to-date) show at Paradiso and the second night of a 2-night stand. Tickets cost ƒ 30,00 and the show was sold out. Set II was the first known 4-song complete second set (see also 3/28/92 II cut short by flooding). Stash was explosive with a long jam that stretched to nearly 30 minutes making this the longest Stash to-date. The Wormtown Jam was a bent continuation of the previous night’s “I think you know where you are, you’re on the back of the worm” stage banter with Trey narration sung to and including lyrics from Swingtown (Steve Miller cover) “come on and dance cause you’re on the back of the worm.” Fish testified about Wormtown while Trey warned “you guys should watch out when you leave here tonight because you don’t want to run into one of these giant worms that lives in the canal – it’s terrifying.” David Bowie was played as a second encore and included a Maze tease from Mike during the intro. This show was released in June 2015 (along with 2/17/97 and 7/1/97) as part of the Amsterdam box set. After this show the band and crew traveled 490 miles overnight to Nuremberg, Germany.
