Show Notes

This was Phish’s first performance at Star Lake (at the time known as Coca-Cola Star Lake Amphitheatre) – a modern outdoor amphitheater near Pittsburgh opened in 1989 with a capacity of 23,000. Tickets cost $25.00 and the show was sold out. The Funky Bitch soundcheck was sung by Page and the Paul and Silas soundcheck included some alternate Trey lyrics about the 2/28/97 Berlin (Europe) version. Amoreena (Elton John cover) was the 1st played by Phish. The end of Wilson contained a Little Drummer Boy tease and Trey teased Super Bad during 2001. Gumbo was the longest version to-date. After this show the band and crew traveled 237 miles overnight to Darien Lake, New York. Gumbo and Stash from this show were released in 2012 on the So Inclined bonus disc that was included with the Star Lake 98 DVD.
