Additional Summer Tour Dates Announced

We've announced additional dates to Phish's 2011 Summer Tour, including the band's first-ever concert at the Hollywood Bowl (and their first Los Angeles appearance since 2003), and their first shows in scenic Lake Tahoe. The band will also play in San Francisco at the Outside Land's Music Festival in Golden Gate Park, two consecutive nights at The Gorge in George, WA and a three-night stand at Chicago’s UIC Pavilion.

Phish kicks off their 2011 Summer Tour on Memorial Day weekend, with three consecutive nights (May 27, 28 & 29) at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY. Stops along the way include Cleveland, Cincinnati, Mansfield, Darien Lake and more, as well as 2-night runs in Holmdel, Columbia and Alpharetta. The band also plays host to Super Ball IX,their own 3-Day Festival over Fourth of July Weekend in Watkins Glen, NY. The band will not be touring this fall.

backwards down the number line??

why is everybody so pissed about no deer creek and alpine?
sure they have played there every year since most of you can remember? i remember when we could go to a show and not have to deal with the cops setting up roadblocks to exploit the bands fans and make massive revenue for their respective townships...
alpine and deer creek are two of the worst...
shit,
deer creek and all its new subdivisions, strip malls and fleets of brand new police vehicles (and the special excise police force that drives them) has been funded by mass arrests of phish kids for (mostly) smoking a bit of green in said parking lots...
i for one applaud them for playing smaller venues...and so should you-the intimacy and connection between fans and band at these shows alone is worth its weight in gold.
what can we expect next?
full circle to the bomb factory or bozeman
like back in '94.
wouldn't that be a shame...

HOLLYWOOD!

Yeah I am extemely stoked Phish is playing a SoCal show at the bowl, cause I live in San Diego and have a 1 and 3 year old making it almost impossible to see them elsewhere. Have loved them since Gainesville Fl. show Nov 3rd 1996, spent over $200 to see them in Berekely last year as presale and ticketmaster day of sale give no love. I will always be apalled at how the resellers can trump the fans and jack up prices 300%. I am praying that ordering presale the first day available will afford my wife and I a show at the legendary Hollwood Venue.

RE : Venue Envy

I felt inclined to somewhat apologize for the bad wording of my prior comment. I wasn't out to say playing the same venue was a bad thing. Envy is correct. Lord knows I wouldn't complain if they played The Gorge 14 years running. Venue's are most definitely is a part of the history, and I've aspired to make an Alpine run, but come up short. To be honest I said if it was the closest I got this year that's where I'd be. But the fact that they've gotten that special treatment 14 years in a row and still somehow have room to complain, while years prior have called West Coasters whiners for no love, or a measly 3-night-run in CO before returning Eastside, seems both ridiculous and hypocritical. It's not that you didn't get the love this year, it's that the love needs to be spread more, and not in a predominantly East Coast zone. They know East Coast loves them. Maybe if these West Coast shows sell out, while the East have been on sale for months and have sold out 3, will open Phish's eyes to the dedication of Wester's. We love them, want them more, and don't want to be labeled whiners by those who have been truly privileged. That was all. No offense intended. Travel safe, have fun, and share in the groove, wherever you're lucky enough to do so..........

Stepping into Yesterday

Dear Phish,
I'm writing to express gratitude for announcing these additional shows. I am currently living and working in Shanghai, China and as such have missed out on everything since Coventry with the exception of the 2009 Gorge shows.

In August of 2009 I flew from Shanghai to Seattle, drove to the Gorge, and arrived at the campground several hours before I departed Shanghai. Seattle being 15 hours before Shanghai allowed me to literally fly into yesterday and enjoy what was an Epic show complete with a Snaeakin' Sally vocal jam and a fantastic Calypso feeling improv towards the end of "light."

With this recent announcement, I am planning to fly into yesterday once again, this time with my wife and daughter, to enjoy both nights at the Gorge. We will continue on to Lake Tahoe for both nights, and then fly back to China.

I've been a huge fan since Junta came out on double CD, some 18 years ago. 50+ shows later I'm ecstatic about treating my wife and daughter to their first shows, and bringing a unique flavor to George, Washington from Shanghai.

Looking forward to stepping into yesterday once again and DANCING MY ASS OFF.

Thanks Guys

Sincerely,

Your most dedicated international fan eager to get back on
the train.

re: too bad, so sad
You make it sound like playing Alpine or Deer Creek has been a bad thing. First summer tour in 14 tours we don't rate a show or two. Makes one wonder...

New Management? Perhaps.

Like it or not, there is tradition with Phish as there was with those before and since. Venues are part of that.

What I don't understand is 3 indoor shows, in August, in a 10k seat area (UIC) in the biggest city west of New York. Have fun with that one.

Having a tour (any tour) is enough call for celebration. Everyone travel safe.

Thanks Phish!

I'm a west coast phan and I want to thank you guys for adding the dates in the Pacific Time Zone. LA, Tahoe and San Fran will make my summer great. Thanks!

Too bad, so sad......

Aaawwww.......poor guys that get the same venue every year finally don't. They've played Alpine how many tours in a row? And they released a DVD from last years show. I'm a Seattle dweller, so I had to hit The Greek to even get one run in last summer. Gorge is a blessing. And I have to go across the country for Superball. But no matter. If you want to be there, you'll get there. Stop whining and figure out how to get to whatever's closest. Or are you only true phans if they're in your back yard?......
