PHISH heads back into the studio today to record a new studio album. For this project, they’ve recruited renowned producer and engineer Tchad Blake. His discography is prolific, but for a sampling of Tchad’s work, check out Los Lobos’ “Kiko”, The Bad Plus’ “These Are the Vistas”, Cibo Matto’s “Viva! La Woman”, and Tom Waits’ “Bone Machine”. The band plans to record in The Barn throughout the month of February and is tentatively scheduled to mix the album at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in England in mid-March. The album, as yet untitled, is expected to be released in mid-June.
