Vida Blue’s second studio album comes out a week from Tuesday, October 14.
“The Illustrated Band” features Page, Russell and Oteil backed by the Spam Allstars throughout. The Allstars, a Miami-based Afro-Cuban sextet, have been playing a monthly residency, “JAMON Y QUESO” at S.O.B’s in New York City, which moves from Friday to Monday starting in October.
In celebration of the release of “The Illustrated Band” the next day, Page will sit in with the Allstars for a good part of the show at S.O.B.’s on Monday, October 13. For full show info (tickets are limited), please go to the club’s website at http://www.sobs.com/
We’re still lining up dates for a Vida Blue tour in early January, but this much we can tell you: Vida Blue featuring the Spam Allstars will kick off their tour with a show in Miami on January 3 (venue to be announced soon). Vida Blue and the Allstars will be joined by very special guests The Jazz Mandolin Project featuring Jon Fishman, who will open the whole tour.
