TREYANASTASIO.COM + ONLINE ALBUM PLAYER GO LIVE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Trey’s official website (http://www.treyanastasio.com) went live this afternoon.
Beyond the usual mix of news and tourdates, there’s a section with detailed info and gear lists on every member of the touring band. Coming next week, we debut the A/V Room — photo, video and audio galleries that will grow as the tour commences. The “From the Road” section will feature correspondence and photos from band and crew members from tourdates, rehearsals, etc.
We’ve also created a handy Flash album player — you can listen to Trey’s new album in its entirety. Check it out at http://www.elektra.com/treyplayer
AND THEN THERE WERE 10: PETER APFELBAUM JOINS TREY’S TOURING BAND
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you’ve seen or heard Peter Apfelbaum’s sax playing, you can understand why Trey would make the tour bus a little less comfortable by adding another new member when the band takes to the road next month. In 1977, Peter formed the Hieroglyphics Ensemble, a 17-piece group that performed and recorded through 1998. The group fused elements of funk and world music with the aesthetics of the jazz avant-garde. In addition, he toured with Don Cherry’s Multikulti from 1988 to 1995. Peter moved to NYC in 1998 where he currently plays with a septet there. In addition to playing tenor sax, Peter is one mean flutist. He’ll be starting with Trey a week into the tour (in San Diego) as he’ll be finishing up a run of west coast dates with the Josh Roseman Unit.
