This was Phish's 1st Halloween Goddard show, dubbed the "Halloween Experience" The Joneses also played. The Bertha soundcheck was performed by the Joneses. The Blues Jam soundcheck was played by Trey, Page, Jim Tasse, TJ and Steve Drebber. Del Martin taped this show, which featured the1st known performance of David Bowie. Have Mercy included Jah Roy (from Lambsbread) on guest vocals. Trey and Mike both quoted Fuck Your Face and Minkin during the beginning of Melt The Guns. Richard "Nancy" Wright sat in for vocals on Halley's Comet.
