Show Notes

This show took place upstairs at Nectar’s in what is now Club Metronome. It was the 5th Phish show and the band’s 1st bar gig. The show featured the 1st performances of Fluffhead and Bluegrass (which is likely Back Porch Boogie a/k/a Creek Jam (Max Creek cover). It also marked the 1st public performances of: Fire (Jimi Hendrix cover), Slave To The Traffic Light, Spanish Flea (Herb Alpert cover) Don’t Want You No More (Allman Brothers band cover) and Cities. Spanish Flea included an introduction of the band and Don’t Want No More was played without the final verse. Drums included special guest Marc “Daubs” Daubert on percussion. Skippy The Wondermouse and Fluffhead included special guest The Dude of Life (Steve Pollak) on vocals. Nectar’s eventually became Phish’s second most-played venue after The Front with a total of 44 shows played there.
