Show Notes

This was Ian’s first annual Pig Roast Party, which is often referred to as Ian McLean’s Farm. Reportedly there were reportedly as many dogs as people in attendance. The show date is often mislabeled 8/27/87 due to a handwriting error. Harpua was performed without the usual “Jimmy” story about Poster Nutbag the cat and Harpua the dog. This show featured the 1st known performances of: Bundle Of Joy, Low Rider (War cover) which was played mostly instrumental and Big Black Furry Creature From Mars as well as the 1st Phish performance of Hold Your Head Up a/k/a HYHU (Argent cover) which Phish almost always performed instrumentally. This was also the 1st and only known Phish performance of Stir It Up Jam. La Bamba was teased during Low Rider and Hold Your Head Up was teased during Mike’s Song. Before Mike’s Song, Trey teased Jingle Jangle Jingle (Gene Autry cover). The band extended the introduction to Sparks while Fish used the bathroom. Before and during Makisupa, Trey freestyled some lyrics commonly known as the “Mouse House Rap”.
