Show Notes

This show was Phish’s 7th at Slade Hall and featured the first known performances of: Why Don’t You Love Me? (Hank Williams-turned Red Hot Chili Peppers cover), Blue Monk (Thelonious Monk), Ya Mar (The Mustangs cover), Corrina (Taj Mahal cover – also spelled Corinna) and Boogie On Reggae Woman (Stevie Wonder cover). Note that Boogie On Reggae Woman was performed by The Phones, a group that consisted of members of Phish and The Joneses, on 12/11/86. During the introduction to Blue Monk, Trey introduced “three quarters of the Bob Dylan Band”. No known recording exists of set I – its setlist, which is incomplete, came from Mike’s notes. Note that some tapes circulate labeled 2/27/87 Slade Hall but 2/21/87 is believed to be the correct date of this show.
