Show Notes
This show was Phish’s 1st 4/20 show and their third and last “Full Moon at The Zoo” party at John Paluska’s house – a student co-op known as “Zu”. This show was a private party and was not listed in the March or April 1989 Phish Updates. During Fluffhead – just before Clod, the fire alarm went off, the band made an announcement and everybody left the building. When people were allowed to re-enter, the band jammed “You Shook Me” > Fluff’s Travels. This was the 1st known performance of (part of) You Shook Me All Night Long (AC/DC cover). Fire, which was played for obvious reasons, was dedicated to “the brave men who turned off the fire alarm”. David Bowie included some Christmas-time jamming including teases of Frosty The Snowman (Walter Rollins and Steve Nelson cover) and Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (J. Fred Koots/Haven Gillespie cover). This rendition of Split Open And Melt included a drum solo. Love You was dusted off for this show – played here for the first time in a year and a half (since 10/31/87).
