Show Notes

This show was a private party for 48 Stowe High School graduates plus-chaperones and was a part of Project Graduation – a supervised/alcohol-free post-graduation program. The party took place on the Spirit of Ethan Allen passenger ship and, according to Mike’s notes, involved the band playing some unusual requests, including the 1st and only known performance of Me And Bobby McGee (Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster cover). Reportedly this happened in response to Mike offering the audience to come up and sing with the band. According to one of the participants, he and another Stowe graduate responded, chose the songs, and accompanied the band for vocals on Bobby McGee and the 1st and only known Hotel California (The Eagles cover). This boat show was not listed in the May 1989 Phish Update and the rest of the setlist is unknown.
