Show Notes
This was Phish’s first visit to Hampshire College in nearly two years. They played an all-ages show presented by the Grateful Dead Historical Society which was the largest student group on campus at the time. Tickets cost $10. The band used the opportunity to break out a new, short-lived cover song – the 1st known performance of No Good Trying (Syd Barrett cover). Soundcheck included the 1st known performance of Bang A Gong (T. Rex cover) and the 1st known The Pendulum without Zenzile (since 4/1/86), which included a Low Rider tease. You Enjoy Myself included a Walk On The Wild side vocal jam. No Good Trying included a vacuum solo by Fish. David Bowie’s intro included a Mo’ Better Blues tease. Alumni Blues was dedicated to the graduating seniors.
