Show Notes

Phish’s third trip to Colorado kicked off with their third and final performance at The Eldo. Some sound problems occurred in set I and were addressed after Bouncing Around The Room and after Donna Lee. During set II, Trey announced that this was the second time the band had ever played Llama. This six-song encore contained the most songs of any encore up to this this point. David Bowie’s introduction included Charlie Chan and Oom Pah Pah secret language as well as teases of the Popeye theme and The Munsters’ Theme. At this time, Colorado didn’t have a recycling program and the floor was literally covered in broken glass. This show was the first of many Phish shows in Colorado recorded by Michael Grace using a separate, Soundcraft 200b 16-track console to Digital Audio Tape (DAT). Mike went on to found Grace Design – a company that invents and manufactures a variety of pro audio gear, some of which is still used by Phish.
