Show Notes

This was the 1st Phish Halloween show to take place outside Vermont. It was an all-ages show on the campus of Colorado College. The tickets called the venue “Armstrong Theatre” and indicated “Costume Required”. Page’s costume consisted of pumpkin-shaped glasses and an orange shirt. Ticket prices were $7 for students, $9 for general public or $10 day-of-show. The Buried Alive opener included teases of Dave’s Energy Guide. Possum was punctuated by Oom Pah Pah secret language. Mike teased The Munsters’ Theme during You Enjoy Myself, which led into a vocal jam based on A Night In Tunisia (Dizzy Gillespie cover). Set II began with a costume contest during which finalists had to come onstage to jump on the mini-trampolines. The contest was won by Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum but other contestants included The Desk Lamp (plaid jacket, lampshade hat and a table around the waist) and The Grapes (both purple and green). During Big Black Furry Creature From Mars, Mike dragged the microphone across the stage with his mouth. A recording of this show was released via: eMusic.com on 10/31/99, making it Phish’s 1st official online release. This archival release is also believed to have been the 1st ever commercial download release of a full, live concert by any band. It is still available at livephish.com.
