Show Notes
This was the band’s last Colorado show on this tour and their only show at Fort Ram – a warehouse style nightclub in Old Town Fort Collins with a dance floor surrounded by picnic tables and a weekly penny beer night. It was a 21-and-over show and tickets cost $6 in advance or $9 at the door. David Bowie included teases of Dave’s Energy Guide. This show featured the 1st known performance of Manteca (Dizzy Gillespie cover), which was transposed atop Caravan, along with teases of the Woody Woodpecker Theme. Suzy Greenberg subsequently included teases of Caravan. Mike teased Flash Light during You Enjoy Myself. Contact was played as a tribute to the “disco lights” in the room. Highway To Hell included a Buried Alive tease. A quote from the flyer read: “Their material spins a stylistic web that taxes the descriptive imagination. The most heartening thing you take away from a Phish show is a sense of musical religiosity: their faith in shared commitment buoys them and in turn buoys your faith in the music’s possibilities. The Boston Phoenix October 27, 1989.”
