Show Notes
This was Phish’s 5th (4th headliner) show at Great Woods and the first show of the band’s second 2-night stand there. Reserved tickets cost $20.50 and the show was sold out. The soundcheck listing is unconfirmed and incomplete. During an especially far out Scent of a Mule duel, Trey played his guitar with his teeth and Page played his keyboards feet and face. Trey sang the verses of Fee through his megaphone. Run Like An Antelope included alternative lyrics “Suck the deer shit from the side of this hole.” During the encore – just the second time Cracklin’ Rosie was played in that slot – Fish introduced Cracklin’ Rosie as a song “about a lonely man singing to his inflatable love doll.” Portions of video from this show and 7/1/95 were featured in Mike Gordon’s 1997 short film entitled “Goodwood”, which was screened from 5/9/97-8/17/97 at an exhibit called Extended Play: Between Rock and an Art Space at Boston University’s Photographic Resource Center.
