Show Notes

This was Phish’s 1st show at the Knickerbocker Arena – a modern basketball and hockey arena opened in 1990 with a capacity of 16,357. Tickets cost $20.00 and the show was sold out. This show took place during a full-blown blizzard. The Audience Chess Move was by Antelope Greg Phelps. During Wilson, Trey triggered quotes from a talking Beavis and Butthead doll (see 12/31/91). The Albany YEM stretched to 34 minutes and featured a silent jam during which Trey “played” his guitar behind his head and did the windmill while the rest of the band (most notably Fish) pretended to jam. You Enjoy Myself also included a tease of the Theme From Shaft (including “Shaft” lyrics) and more Beavis and Butthead doll during the vocal jam. After this show the band and crew traveled 266 miles overnight to Portland, Maine for a day off.
