This was Phish’s 1st show (of 9 to-date) at Lakewood Amphitheatre – a venue built specifically for live music with a capacity of 18,920. Reserved tickets cost $20.00. Funky Bitch from the soundcheck was the blues version. Stash was unfinished, ending with a segue to a slow and unusually demented rendition of I Didn’t Know featured Fish on trombone, Trey on megaphone and Mike on electric drill. David Bowie included chanting by the band featuring alternative lyrics “Send me on my way.” After this show the band and crew traveled 385 miles overnight to Raleigh, North Carolina.
