Show Notes
This was Phish’s 1st show at Pittsburgh Civic Arena – a retractable-roof dome hockey arena affectionately known as The Igloo, with a capacity of 16,571. Tickets cost $20.00. Funky Bitch from the soundcheck was the slow, half-time version. The Oh Kee Pa Ceremony was played for the second (and last) time of the year. I’m Blue I’m Lonesome was performed acoustic with Trey on acoustic guitar, Mike on banjo, Page on upright bass and Fish on mandolin. Trey dedicated I’m Blue I’m Lonesome and Maze to Mario Lemieux of the Pittsburgh Penguins saying “We called him up and asked him to come down.” Reba ended without whistling. Bike was played at this show for the only time in 1995 – during the Hold Your Head Up intro Fish introduced the band and himself (“My name is Forest Gump. Thank you for coming to the show tonight.”). Trey sang the verses of Fee through his megaphone. After this show the band and crew traveled 420 miles overnight to Hampton, Virginia.
