This was Phish’s second show at New Haven Veterans Memorial Coliseum – a modernist style hockey arena with a capacity of about 11,000 and a built-in double-helix parking structure stacked atop the venue. Tickets cost $22.00 and the show was sold out. Funky Bitch from the soundcheck was the slow, half-time version. This was the first time Prince Caspian opened a show. Reba ended without whistling. Possum contained All Fall Down secret language. The New Haven Tweezer included teases of Take Me To The River. In the spirit of the season, Page teased Carol Of The Bells during The Squirming Coil outro. After this show the band and crew traveled to Amherst, Massachusetts for a day off.
