This was Phish’s first show at Memorial Coliseum – an indoor hockey and basketball arena opened in 1965. The venue was home of the NBA Portland Trail Blazers until 1995 and had a concert capacity at the time of approximately 12,000. Tickets cost $20.00. As became the habit for the rest of fall tour, Page made the band chess move before the start of set I. Trey teased Julius during Suzy Greenberg. The Fly Famous Mockinbird narration featured a Matrix Rap. After this show the band and crew traveled 314 miles overnight to Vancouver, British Columbia.
