This was Phish’s 1st show in Birmingham and their only gig at this venue – a brand new (in 1994) nightclub/concert hall with a capacity of about 1,000. The unique Fee opener was played over the P.A. via: a sequencer tape as an introduction to The Great Gig In The Sky. Oteil Burbridge and Stacy Starkweather both joined the band on separate bass guitars (along with Mike) for a three-man Bass Jam out of Mike’s Song. This was the 1st Bass Jam played and the band members seized the opportunity to switch instruments with Trey taking over drums and Fish organ while Page reportedly watched while enjoying a cold beer. Trey teased Stairway To Heaven (Led Zeppelin cover) during the Cavern Encore.
