Show Notes

This was the 1st show of the 4-show New Year’s run and was Phish’s only show at the Philadelphia Civic Center – a historic basketball arena opened in 1931 and known as “The Nation’s Most Historic Arena” with a capacity of about 10,000.  Tickets cost $19.50 and the show was sold out.  This was the first known Phish show to employ quadraphonic sound, with speaker stacks at each of the four corners of the venue.  Reba ended without whistling.  This was the only Mike’s > The Mango Song > Weekapaug Groove played.  Weekapaug Groove included Auld Lang Syne teases and a The Little Drummer Boy Jam (see eg. 4/9/94, 12/28/12).  After this show the band and crew traveled 270 miles overnight to Providence, Rhode Island.
