Santa Monica, CA, US

Set List

Show Notes

This was Phish’s only show in Santa Monica – the venue was a convention center auditorium opened in 1958 with a capacity of 4,250.  Tickets cost $20.00 and the show was sold out.  Dave Matthews Band opened.  Trey sang the verses of Fee through his megaphone.  Weekapaug Groove was unfinished and instead ended with a segue into Hold Your Head Up.  Why Don’t We Do It In The Road? – the second ever performed and one of only four ever played by Phish – featured Fish on vocals and a vacuum solo.  This show featured the 1st Chalk Dust Torture Reprise played in public (during the Encore), which included crew introductions and some singing of crew’s names like “Amy Skelton.”  This rendition of Simple was released on “A Live One”. This was the last show of the fall tour.  after this show, the band and crew traveled home for the holidays.
