This was Phish’s 1st and only show at Paolo Soleri Amphitheater – a small 3,000 capacity outdoor amphitheater designed by Italian architect, Paolo Soleri on tribal lands. Ginseng Sullivan, Dog Faced Boy and Nellie Cane were performed acoustic without amplification. For Ginseng and Nellie Kane, Trey played acoustic guitar, Mike upright bass, Page Melodica and Fish Madonna washboard. Trey introduced Fish as Greasy Fizeek and announced that he would perform an “emotion solo” during Dog Faced Boy. Harry Hood had some unusual vocalizations during the intro. After this show the band and crew traveled 496 miles overnight to Tucson for a day off.
