Show Notes

This 1-set “show” took place after the Indiana University Auditorium show in the parking lot outside the band bus. A similar mini-version of this jam took place previously backstage in Atlanta after 2/21/93. After the gig, the band and Mosier gathered in a parking lot outside the venue near their bus and played a bluegrass jam including Trey on guitar and fiddle, Mike on banjo and bass, Page on upright bass, Fish on mandolin and Rev. Jeff Mosier on banjo. Joining the band were some fans including Jeremy on banjo, Abe Stevens on the jaw harp and Eric Merrill on fiddle. At least one taper who had recorded the show, Jason Loomis, quickly set up his gear and recorded the jam which has since circulated widely. This performance yielded the 1st and only Blackberry Blossom (Traditional cover), Mountain Dew (Bascom Lamar Lunsford cover) and John Hardy (Traditional cover) played by Phish as well as the 1st Dooley (The Dillards cover), and Will The Circle Be Unbroken (Traditional cover) played by Phish. Mike teased Spanish Moon after John Hardy and Little Tiny Butter Biscuits. After the parking lot bluegrass jam, the band and crew traveled 383 miles overnight to Columbia, Missouri.
