Set List
Show Notes
This was Phish’s 1st show at this venue – a historic hockey and basketball arena opened in 1951 “in memory of our service veterans” with a capacity of 7,998 notable as a filming location for the movie Slap Shot (see also Utica Auditorium). Tickets cost $18.50 and the show was sold out. The soundcheck Paul And Silas included some lyrics from Those Damn Blue-Collar Tweekers (Primus cover) and the soundcheck Blues Jam included a bit of Back At The Chicken Shack. David Bowie included a tease of the nursery rhyme, A-Hunting We Will Go. At some point during set I, chairs on the floor were dissembled and passed to the back of the auditorium (see also 7/13/94). Trey teased Stairway To Heaven during Suzy Greenberg and the Theme From Woody The Woodpecker during Simple. This deconstructed Weekapaug Groove developed into a Can’t You Hear Me Knocking jam and ending. Ya Mar included a tease of Stash. This was the last fall tour date listed in the October/November 1994 Doniac Schvice. By this time, the November/December 1994 Schvice had been delivered announcing the remainder of fall tour and holiday tour. After this show the band and crew returned home for a week off before resuming the Fall Tour in Ohio. David Bowie from this show was released in 2011 on the I-90s bonus disc that was included with the Live in Utica DVD/CD box set.
